Halloween on the Beaches of South Walton

For Heaven’s Sake is not just a Spring Break and Summer vacation spot. South Walton offers year round fun and frolic and Halloween is NO exception. Take a look at some of the events going on in the area. Full list of events is provided by the Walton Sun

• Halloween Celebration & Trick-or-Treating: Bring the little ghosts and goblins for trick-or-treating throughout the Town Center businesses and the Harvest Market Artist’s booths from 2-5 p.m. Oct. 24 in North Barrett Square in Rosemary Beach. The spooky annual tradition has pumpkin carving and costume contests, hayrides, a moonwalk, games and even a haunted town cemetery. Plus see Ohana Institute’s annual Scarecrow Lane and gobble up goodies from the bake sale.

• Halloween 5K Scare Run & 1 Mile Fun Dash: Costumes are encouraged for Ohana Institute’s inaugural event Oct. 24 at the St. Augustine Amphitheater in Rosemary Beach. Opening ceremonies at 6:45 a.m., then 5K race and at 8:30 a.m. the Fun Dash. Cost to enter is $40/person for 5K and $15/dash. Enter your best scarecrow on Scarecrow lane to win a trophy. A complimentary BBQ meal will be provided to registered participants, along with other food and drinks.

• Witches of South Walton: Ride with the witches at 6:30 a.m. Oct. 30 along Scenic Hwy. 30A for the 12th year in a row to benefit the Children’s Volunteer Health Network. The registration cost is $30 which includes access to the Gathering Brunch and 3 tickets for Mimosas. Raffle tickets are $5. For registration information visit www.WitchesOfSouthWalton.com.
